Proud to serve the Cameron community!

Cameron West Virginia was named by David McConaughey in honor of his dear friend Samuel Cameron following his untimely death from Cholera. Cameron, West Virginia was victim to many horrible fires which resulted in destroying much of the town’s history and leading to town legislation prohibiting construction of wood buildings in the downtown area.

The construction of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad helped give birth to what we presently know as Cameron, West Virginia. Completed in 1852, the construction of this popular railroad proved to be very beneficial for Cameron as its location was an optimal trade point between Wheeling and Fairmont. It also brought in numerous people to the area in search of employment. Towards the mid to late 1800s, Cameron found itself expanding into a host of industrial industries including flour mills, glass manufacturers, and tool manufacturers.
